On the occasion of the  European Football Championship in Germany  (June 14 to July 14, 2024), there will be temporary controls at all German borders with immediate effect. The aim is to prevent potential violent criminals from entering the country. According to Interior Minister Nancy Faeser (SPD), these controls will only end after the European Championships on July 19. All travelers are therefore asked to carry valid travel documents with them.
